Nate
February 11, 2010I think it would be safe to say that Nate, along with his siblings, hase the creamitest complexion of any child in the state. I may be wrong here, but I willstand by that until someone proves me wrong! With such a soft complexion, I had in my mind a few images with soft muted colors almost matching his yummy skintone. Of course, Nate is beautiful, but I love the tones and soft colors contrast with his blue hat and striking blue eyes. It helps them pop off the image.
Now- if I could have talked Tamarra into having some pictures made of her, I think I would have gotten tons of shots. I feel like I have sort of let her down, coming away with a handful of images of her boy. Admittedly, these pictures were tough for little Nate. It was a last minute impromtu photo session that he didn’t give his consent for, he didn’t really care to be sat down (ie: Nate really loves his mom and thinks her arms are pretty comfy) and in the end it never helps if you came away with a bruised forehead. I faired a bit better than Nate and managed to out manuever his rolling and came away with a few gorgeous images of incredible blue eyes and those nice soft colors I wanted. It also helps that Nate is baby perfection: chubby, rosy cheeked and big blue eyes!
Tammara Gresham: You always get me with your sweet little recaps of our days! I'll agree with you that Nate is pretty stinkin perfect, but you are photographer perfection! I'm amazed as usual :)
A change will do you good
January 26, 2010January seems to be a month that just whizzes by me. I always consider it a month of playing catch up (on wedding albums, business) But this January was even more of a blur than normal! I decided on January 5th that I would definately do the Cenla Bridal fair and I dove in head first, sink or swim style, to get ready for the show. Four albums, brochure, business cards, network cards, 6 large prints, countless other print examples, frames, background walls, decor….no wonder we are tired! If I had to choose sink or swim, I would say I “swim” describes the outcome of that day. Most of the swimming is owed to Sarah & Keri who did an awesome job! Stu did a wonderful job with construction. I was unbelievably blessed and surrounded by great people – so the day went off better than I had hoped. Thank you guys!
I also had a nice break of two newborns this month! Congrats Alisha & Mike - Keith & Courtney
One more thing- I am rolling out a new site soon. It’s gonna be a weddings only site. All my portrait stuff will be moved here. The only thing hindering my new site is trying to figure out a new way to proof portraits on the blog. So if the new site is launched and you have a portrait session you need to order from, let me know and I’ll get instructions to you on how to see a use a new proofing system (one I get the kinks worked out of course!)
What’s this??? A new post?
June 17, 2009Yeah – hold on to your undies! I am blogging.
Since I last blogged, let me see what all I’ve done…
1. Jack is out of school and has figured out that his favorite thing in this world is fishing. Who knew the kid could sit still and QUIET that long? He’s been going to the camp with my mom for a week at a time!
2. Megan Defatta got MARRIED!!! Her wedding was awesome- I will post more of that later!
3. Amy Stills got MARRIED!!!! to a rather handsome groom too.. Her wedding was also in Shreveport and I had a blast!
4. Michelle Hollis got MARRIED!!! I have got to upload some pictures, if only for Kelsey! I promise Kel I won’t make you wait much longer!
5. Jack and Claire took two weeks of swimming lessons. Claire is now a fish. The kid swims better than I do! They all three have much better tans than I do! My children inherited their complexion from their father’s side. Every child of the Glaeser line sports a sweet bronze tan all summer.
6. We have a new pet- a rabbit. Remember crock pot? She lasted about 3 months. I am giving this rabbit about 6 weeks. For starters, the rabbit was living in the woods next our neighbor. It is obviously as tame rabbit that was let go- or lost… which I’m sure the parents told their child a story about “the rabbit went to visit Alice..” or something like that! Anyway, we spotted that rabbit one day and Jack had to have it. It was a 45 minute high speed chase for me and the rabbit- but I won!! We caught it! Those high speed chases happen pretty much daily now. This rabbit escapes every single day- sometimes multiple times. I am an animal lover- but at some point you just have to say- ENOUGH! I’m not sure how much high speed chasing I have in me.
7. Landscaping- I got tired of having a pool with no plants- so we got busy and lanscaped around the pool. We liked that so much we kept going and did another bed, and another… They are lovely, dont’ get me wrong- BUT I spend about 2 hours and $50 a night watering!
8. We are swimming everyday and every night. We take a short break to chase fireflies in the neighbor’s yard. I keep telling myself I need to get pictures of the kids chasing fireflies. There’s nothing more summer than catching fireflies, you know?
Here’s a newborn session from last week! See, I am working! This baby was about 2 weeks old. What better way to start blogging again, than with a new baby?

Misty: OMG thats a CUTIE!!!!
Growing Family
April 21, 2009Today was a good day. I made progress and overcame a few well entrenched photography “fears” I have. Those being:
1. My fear of the “not so newborn” baby.
2. My fear of sun and white shirts. Humans wearing reflectors basically.
So about the baby…. I have bided my time and waited patiently for a session to meet this baby. She completely lived up to all my expectations. I would classify this baby as a perfect example of Cuddle bugbaby. In all the genres of babies, I would say the the cuddle bug baby has to be my favorite. Jackson taught me the meaning of ”Bear Grylls in training baby”- they are hard to hold, a firm and tense baby with jerky movement and head that bobs around. This baby is destined to be the toddler who loves outdoors, the swing from the chandellier kiddo and whose mother emphatically says- ”I just don’t understand why I can’t lose weight with all the running and chasing I do!!” No- the baby I got to hold today would definately be the Cuddle bugbaby: soft, squishy and plump cooing baby who just melts into your arms. But, it’s well known that I’m a sucker for baby chub any day. She was also very well behaved! She took a bottle and went straight to sleep. As Pinky Dinky Doo would say- You don’t see that everyday! All those ideas about babies being easier the younger they are- out the window! I also must be living right because I can not believe my good fortune at getting babies that will curl up on the their bellies- I think this is 6 in a row now? That’s gotta be a record!
Here is baby Emma…

I know that was my third baby in a row in that pose- but you have no idea what an accomplishment it is to get a baby into this position!
On to number 2.. I think my faves from the day are the family shots. Even though Dad wanted to be done and gone- even though little Ava is two and photo sessions just don’t work in that a 2 yr old’s agenda very well- even though I dearly heart sun but that doesn’t usually work so well for me with white clothes…. I think they turned out rather exceptional! Not much posing- my family sessions have turned into one quick posed shot and the rest just interraction. They may not have perfect hand placement or perfect little smiley faces. But the natural ones are always my favorite. The way a mother looks at her children always speaks volumes. I remember taking some pictures of a friend just brushing her daughter’s hair. I was struck later at how much love she conveyed in such a simple task as brushing hair. Moms rock!

Misty: I am in awe!!!!! Thanks Shanna!!!!
Monica: These are wonderful pics! Emma is going to be as photogenic as Ava!
Baby boy…
April 11, 2009Lots of baby boys lately!!!!
Here’s another sweet bouncy baby boy…
